These terms govern your use of PennyDrive. By signing in, you agree to them. Please read them — they cover how we charge, how retrieval works, and what happens if something goes wrong.
PennyDrive ("we", "us", "our") is a cloud storage service operated as a proprietorship based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. You can reach us at support@pennydrive.in.
To use PennyDrive you must:

We don't monitor the contents of your files (they're encrypted on your device before upload — we technically can't). But if we receive a valid legal complaint about account activity, we may suspend the account while we investigate.
Newly uploaded files sit in active storage, where they're immediately available for browsing and download. Your plan determines the maximum amount you can keep in active storage.
You can archive any folder to cold storage, which costs about one-fifth of active storage. Archived files are not immediately downloadable — you have to request a retrieval, which takes hours. Thumbnails remain available so you can still browse archived folders for free.
Cold storage has a 90-day minimum commitment. If you delete an archived folder before 90 days, a pro-rated early-exit fee applies. This fee is shown in the confirmation dialog before you confirm the deletion.
To download an archived file, you request a retrieval. Three speed tiers are available:

Egress fees (approximately ₹7.50 per GB) are also passed through at cost and shown separately before you confirm. Retrieved files are available for 7 days, then automatically re-archived unless you choose to extend the window.
PennyDrive offers four plans: Free, Starter, Standard, and Premium. Current pricing and limits are shown in the app. All prices are in Indian Rupees and exclude GST. GST is added at the applicable rate at checkout.
You can pay monthly or annually. Annual billing gives you a 15% discount and is charged upfront. Monthly billing is charged on the same date each month.
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We support UPI, cards, netbanking, and eNACH for recurring billing. Your payment credentials never touch our servers — Razorpay handles all of it.
You can upgrade at any time. The prorated difference between plans is charged immediately; the next full bill is at the upgraded rate.
Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle, not immediately. Downgrades are blocked if your current usage exceeds the new plan's storage limits — reduce usage first.
If a payment fails, we enter a 3-day grace period during which you have full access. If the payment still fails, the account is suspended (read-only) for 30 days. After 30 days of suspension, the account is cancelled and a further 30-day data retention period begins before permanent deletion.
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. Retrieval fees are refunded if the retrieval job fails on our end. The 90-day cold-storage minimum applies regardless of account status.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing screen. You retain access through the end of the current billing period. After that, the account downgrades to the Free plan (subject to Free-plan storage limits, which may require you to delete or archive content).
You can request account deletion from Account → Privacy & data → Delete account. Deletion is permanent after a 30-day purge window. During the window you can cancel the deletion request by signing in.
Your files are your files. You keep all rights to the content you upload. We do not use, copy, sell, or transfer your files for any purpose other than operating the service you've asked us to provide.
The PennyDrive name, logo, and software are ours. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app while your account is active.
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, upgrades, or repairs that briefly take the service offline. Where we can, we'll notify you in advance.
We may add, remove, or change features. Material reductions in what a paid plan offers will be communicated at least 30 days in advance, and you'll have the option to cancel and receive a prorated refund of unused prepaid fees.
PennyDrive is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
While we take reasonable care to preserve your data (including durable cold storage and periodic integrity checks), we are not a backup service. We strongly recommend you keep your own copies of irreplaceable files. We are not liable for data loss beyond the statutory protections under Indian law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the service is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
In the case of a breach, we'll give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to fix the issue where practical. For serious or repeated breaches (e.g. illegal content), we may terminate without notice.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of PennyDrive is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Before starting any legal action, please contact us at support@pennydrive.in. Most concerns can be resolved directly. For data-specific grievances, our grievance officer can be reached at pennydrive.2026@gmail.com.
We may update these terms from time to time. If the changes are material (affecting pricing, liability, your data rights, etc.), we'll notify you in-app and by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
